Art Inside Out

Art Inside Out, a lively panel discussion about social practice’s place in the art world, will be held at The Nash Gallery next Wednesday, December 10th from 6-8p.

“The conversation will explore the relationship between institutions, community art and socially engaged practices. In particular, we will investigate the roles institutions play: are they platforms for engaged practices, aimed at specific constituencies? At the same time, should institutions be considered objects of creative critiques? And finally, how do we account for the way institutions as failed support systems come to rely on artists as instigators to re-invent the very mechanism or structure of “the institution”? Please join us for a discussion that aims to actively involve the audience. Provocative questions are welcome.”

We’ll be providing pie to smooth things over.

*As a reminder, the Pie Project will be wrapping up on Dec. 13th, at the close of the exhibition thinking making living.  There will be one more raffle drawing for your chance to win a pie and a conversation with low tech/high joy collaborative.  Enter the drawing and be a winner!
